3 (M). Holotype M: Camp Rochambeau, [ Island of Cayenne ], French Guiana ( IPP *); coll. E. Abonnenc; 29 May 1943; no. 687.

Two specimens listed in the original publication were wrongly designated as paratypes by Dégallier & Claustre (1980: 143). The holotype of Cx. equinoxialis , originally deposited in the IPG, was found in the IPP by Belkin (1968: 15) but was not seen by Harrison (1973: 279) nor Dégallier & Claustre (1980: 143) and was established as non-extant by Pecor et al. (1992: 61). The holotype was found in the general collection of the IPP during this study.
