Diagnosis. Important diagnostic features of the Stephanopoides species are a high cephalic region without guanine coloration, the dark coloration of the metatarsus and distal third of tibia I and II, the guanine stripes on abdomen, the absence of a retrolateral tibial apophysis in the male palp, and an epigynum with atrium.
