Type Locality. Cape Cleveland, Queensland, Australia (19°11’S 147°01’E).
Material examined. Queensland: Holotype female, 10.0 mm, AM P.51258, Cape Cleveland (19°11’S 147°01’E) 1 m, on brown alga Sargassum sp., 24 August 1996, coll. G. Edgar; paratype male, AM P. 51259, 11 mm, Cape Cleveland (19°11’S 147°01’E) 1 m, on brown alga Sargassum sp., 24 August 1996, coll. G. Edgar; male, 12.1 mm, dissected, 3 slides, AM P.90278, Sunken reef, north of Goodes Island, Torres Strait (10°31’29S 142°3’18”E), 10 m, plates of coral rubble, 29 September 2006, coll. M. Capa and J.K. Lowry (QLD 1868); male, AM P.90279, Northwest Islet, Torres Strait (10°18’54”S 142°5’26”E), 5.1 m, brown algae, 1 October 2006, coll. M. Capa and J.K. Lowry (QLD 1916).

Lord Howe Island: Male, dissected, 3 slides, AM P.90118, Old Gulch, lower sides of lower littoral boulders, among algae, 17 May 1977, coll. G.D. Fenwick (LHA 48).
Remarks. Specimens from Torres Strait have the coxa 1 anterior margin more produced than original material from Cape Cleveland. Material from Lord Howe Island is the most southerly distribution record for P. e d g a r i.
