Description of Paenisporosarcina quisquiliarum LPB View in CoL 0134
Cells are Gram-staining-positive, non-flagellated and rod-shaped. Colonies are circular, convex, entire and white-colored after 1 day of incubation on MA at 25°C. Positive for gelatin hydrolysis, but negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, fermentation of D- glucose and L- arginine, esculin hydrolysis and β -galactosidase activity. Unable to utilize D- glucose, L- arabinose, D- mannose, D- mannitol, N -acetylglucosamine, D- maltose, potassium gluconate, caprate, adipate, malate, trisodium citrate and phenylacetate. Strain LPB0134 (= NIBR BAC000498522) was isolated from octopus.
