Adult habitus: General body color dark brown. Head and antennae dark brown to black, pronotum brown ( Figs. 6A–B View FIGURE 6 ). Thorax dark brown to black, legs brown, femora with dark brown band at the base, rest of the leg brown with fine hairs, tarsi dark brown. Posterior segments of abdomen dark brown, anterior segments brownish. Last three segments of abdomen with fine and long hairs ( Figs. 6C–D View FIGURE 6 ). Wing membrane subhyaline, with dark brown venation.

Male terminalia: Tergum IX is darkly sclerotized, with median deep indentation towards anterior margin but without protuberant lobes ( Figs. 6C View FIGURE 6 , 8A View FIGURE 8 ). Tergum IX with dense fine hairs and tiny stout spines along the deep indentation of the posterior margin ( Figs. 6C View FIGURE 6 , 8A View FIGURE 8 ). Sternum IX with hypoproct wide at the base and gradually tapering towards the apex, tip tubular. Vesicle longer than half length of hypoproct, its length is 3X of its width, lateral margins are strongly sclerotized ( Figs. 6D View FIGURE 6 , 8B View FIGURE 8 ). Tergum X darkly sclerotized, covered with tiny fine hairs ( Figs. 6C View FIGURE 6 , 8A View FIGURE 8 ). Cercus is much longer than its width and considerably sclerotized. Epiproct long, base slightly wider than its apical half, with a darkly sclerotized lateral band, and dorsal sclerite with thin medial sclerotized band deviating in two thin lateral bands in the apex. Apical flagellum inserted between the two darkly sclerotized bands, long and slender, tapering slightly towards the apex, curved in dorsal view with bifurcate apex as seen in lateral view ( Figs. 6C–D View FIGURE 6 , 7A View FIGURE 7 , 8A, C View FIGURE 8 ). Paraproct is divided into three lobes: inner lobe is broad, short and acute, darkly sclerotized; median lobe darkly sclerotized ventrally, laterally membranous, wide at base and gradually narrowing towards the acute apex, bear many fine hairs and bent outwards; outer lobe is moderately sclerotized, with rounded apex armed with several fine hairs, the same length as median lobe ( Figs. 7B View FIGURE 7 , 8D View FIGURE 8 ).

Female: Unknown.

Type materials: Holotype male, China, Yunnan province, Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Shangri-la city, Gezan township , Langdu Village , 2019-IX-07, N 28°14.164’ E 99°59.737’, 3609 m, Leg. Qing-Bo Huo GoogleMaps ; Paratypes, 4 males, same data as for the holotype GoogleMaps .

Distribution: China (Yunnan Province).

Etymology: The new species is named after its type locality, Diqing.

Diagnosis: This species is characterized by the tergum 9, which has a deep posteromedial notch but not produced in protuberances, flagellum of epiproct curved leftwards in more than a full circle and has a bifurcate apex in lateral view, and the paraproct median lobe is long, darkly sclerotized and bearing long, fine hairs but lacks a hook, while the inner lobe is short and broad.

Remarks: The new species is closely similar to Mesonemoura longiflagellata Xiao & Qian, 2019 (in: Xiao et al. 2019) from Yunnan and M. sichuanensis Du & Ji, 2015 (in: Du et al. 2015) from Sichuan province in the general appearance and shape. The new species can be distinguished from M. longiflagellata by the shorter epiproct flagellum, paraproct inner lobe without bifurcate structure on the tip and median lobe without a row of spines on the tip. We checked the paratypes of M. sichuanensis which are present in the insect collection of Yangzhou University. The new species can be distinguished from the latter by tergum 9 which have a deep posteromedial notch but not produced posteriorly, flagellum of epiproct in lateral view have bifurcate apex, the paraproct median lobe is long, darkly sclerotized and bearing fine hairs but lacks hook and inner lobe is short and broad.
