Type species. Aclodes nicuesa Hebard, 1928 .

Remark. The type species of the genus Acla Hebard, 1928b , Heterogryllus crassicornis Saussure, 1878 , has been transferred to the genus Aclodes Hebard, 1928b ( Desutter 1987) , while the type species of Heterogryllus , H. ocellaris Saussure, 1874 , belongs to the Neoaclini according to the morphological characters given by Saussure (1874). This synonymy implies that the genera Acla and Aclodes are synonym. As they have been described by Hebard in the same 1928b paper, the priority rule cannot apply. As the first reviewer, I choose to keep the name Aclodes , as this genus corresponds to a well-defined, monophyletic assemblage within the Aclodae group of genera. Most species described since 1992 in the genus Acla must be transferred in neoacline genera (see below), and I formally propose the following recombination, Aclodes crassicornis (Saussure, 1878) , n. comb.

Phylogenetic relationships. According to available molecular evidence (Chintauan-Marquier et al., submit.), Aclodes and Paraclodes constitute a monophyletic group, supporting the Aclodae group proposed by Desutter- Grandcolas (1992b). They constitute the sister group of a wide clade including on one hand the taxa classified in the Paragryllini sensu Gorochov (2007) and gathering several tribes proposed for Neotropical taxa by Desutter- Grandcolas ( Paragryllini , Rumeini , Benoistellini , but also Neoaclini and Strogulomorphini ), and on the other hand a clade comprising (( Caltathra Otte, 1987 — Protathra Desutter-Grandcolas, 1997 )( Brevizacla Gorochov, 2003 — Mikluchomaklaia Gorochov, 1986 )).
