Superacla Gorochov, 2009 n . stat.
Neoacla Superacla Gorochov, 2009: 570 .
Type species. Neoacla Superacla ecuadori Gorochov, 2007 .
Other species included. Acla multivenosa Chopard, 1937 , Selvacla alciosus Otte, 2006 , Selvacla choreutes Otte, 2006 , Selvacla saltator Otte, 2006 , Selvacla sophos Otte, 2006 , Neoacla Superacla ecuadori Gorochov, 2009 , Neoacla Superacla longisacculus Gorochov, 2009 . Gorochov (2009) synonymized S. choreutes and Acla multivenosa Chopard, 1937 .
Diagnosis. Within the Neoaclini ( Desutter 1988) , Superacla can be recognized by the structure of male genitalia (pseudepiphallic sclerite fully sclerotized and triangular in shape, with a high longitudinal crest and a very narrow median process; ectophallic apodemes less developped than in Neoacla and symmetrical).
Two species groups could be recognized within the genus, according to the shape of the pseudepiphallic sclerite, which can be either shorter and wide ( S. alciosus , S. choreutes , S. saltator , S. sophos ), or very elongated and thin ( N. ecuadori , N. longisacculus ). Whether these groups are monophyletic will be determined only by phylogenetic analysis.
