Type species. Phytoptochetus tristichus Nalepa, 1918: 73–74 .
Diagnosis. Body vermiform; scapular tubercles and setae on rear shield margin, scapular setae (sc) directed posteriorly; opisthosoma with three ridges.
This genus consists of 3 species ( Amrine et al. 2003). All 3 species are known from Southeast Asia only.
