Type species. Brionesa pipturella Keifer, 1966b: 5–6 .

Diagnosis. Body vermiform; scapular tubercles and setae ahead of rear shield margin; dorsal opisthosoma annuli flattened, swollen laterally, forming two longitudinal rows of processes; empodium divided; anterolateral setae on coxisternum I (1b) absent.

This genus consists of 2 species ( Amrine et al. 2003). One species has been recorded from Southeast Asia.
