Acaphylla theae ; Homburg, 1955: 55.
Acaphylla theae ; Harris, 1982: 20.
Acaphylla theae ; Amrine & Stasny, 1994: 14.
Acaphylla theae ; Hong et al., 2006: 230.
Host. Camellia sinensis (Theaceae) .
Habit. Rust.
Distribution. Indonesia, India, China, USA.
Remarks. Amrine & Stasny (1994) stated that it is hard to associate this name with modern forms; Acaphylla steinwedeni Keifer, 1943 might be a synonym of A. theae if A. theae feeds on both Thea and Camellia . This mite is wide-spread in South and East China, and many studies have been done on its ecology, biocontrol and chemical control.
