Type species. Acalitus ledi Keifer, 1965b: 1–2 .
Diagnosis. Body vermiform; scapular tubercles and setae on rear shield margin, scapular setae (sc) directed posteriorly; femur I seta absent, tibial seta absent, empodium entire.
This genus consists of 87 species ( Amrine et al. 2003). Three species have been recorded from Southeast Asia.
