Type species. Phytoptus galii Karpelles, 1884: 47 .
Diagnosis. Body fusiform; female genitalia appressed to coxae, genital coverflap with 2 rows of ridges; opisthosomal annuli subequal dorsoventrally; scapular tubercles and setae absent.
This genus consists of 43 species ( Amrine et al. 2003). Only 3 species have been recorded from Southeast Asia.
