Type species. Rhyncaphytoptus ficifoliae Keifer, 1939a: 9 , 20.
Diagnosis. Body fusiform; gnathosoma large, abruptly curved and bent down near base; scapular setae (sc) present; empodium entire; opisthosoma evenly rounded.
This genus consists of 18 species ( Amrine et al. 2003). Only 2 of these have been recorded from Southeast Asia.
