Type species. Vasates quadripedes Shimer, 1869: 319 .
Diagnosis. Body fusiform; scapular setae (sc) and tubercles on rear shield margin, directed posteriorly; coxae I and coxae II each with 3 setae; empodium entire; opisthosoma with annuli differentiated.
This genus consists of 27 species ( Amrine et al. 2003). Ten of these have been recorded from Southeast Asia.
