Type species. Proneotegonotus antiquorae Mohanasundaram, 1983: 27 .
Diagnosis. Body fusiform; scapular setae (sc) and tubercles ahead of rear shield margin, anterior lobe present; coxae I and coxae II each with 3 setae; genu II seta absent, paraxial tibial seta (l’) absent, empodium entire; opisthosomal setae d and e absent, first dorsal annuli broad, equal to 3 or 4 annuli.
This genus consists of 2 species ( Amrine et al. 2003). One of these has been recorded from Southeast Asia.
