Type species. Tegonotus piri Nalepa, 1891: 2 .
Diagnosis. Body fusiform; scapular setae (sc) and tubercles ahead of rear shield margin, directed centrally, anterior lobe present; opisthosoma with 3 ridges, middorsal ridge fading simultaneously with subdorsal ridges; empodium entire; coxae I and coxae II each with 3 setae.
This genus consists of 151 species ( Amrine et al. 2003). Only 8 of these have been recorded from Southeast Asia.
