Range:— Andes and Amazon highlands of Venezuela to Bolivia (CO, LP).
Ecology:— Common; terrestrial, scandent in humid forests, often along forest borders and in disturbed habitats; 800–2500 m, to 2700 m elsewhere.
Notes:— Hypolepis parallelogramma differs from H. repens by having equilateral proximal pinnae (vs. subequilateral), costae, costules, and veins abaxially with trichomidia (vs. catenate hairs), and stramineous pseudo-indusia (vs. hyaline).
