Dennstaedtia sprucei T.Moore, Index Fil. View in CoL 308. 1861.
Range:— Andes from Colombia to Bolivia (CO).
Ecology:— Rare; saxicolous on wet rocks near small waterfalls, where the spray may disperse the easily detached bulbils; juvenile plants are rarely found growing epiphytically; 2000–2350 m.
Notes:— Young individuals of Dennstaedtia auriculata are superficially similar to D. sprucei in the shape and dissection of the lamina; however, they differ by the glabrous segment margins and characters and indument of the rhizome.
