Dennstaedtia auriculata H.Navarrete & B.Øllg., Nordic J. Bot. View in CoL 20: 337, fig. 5a–d. 2000.
Range:— Greater Antilles; mountains from southern Mexico to Venezuela and Bolivia (CO, LP). Ecology:— Rare; terrestrial in humid forests; 1800–3000 m. Notes:— This species resembles Dennstaedtia mathewsii in some features, such as the large scandent leaves. However, the purse-shaped sori of D. auriculata are borne mainly laterally, not apically, on ultimate segments. In addition, D. auriculata has the rhizome apices elevated aboveground, not buried.
