1 A biogeographical study is in preparation by the author of the present paper and I prefer to avoid the publication of partial data. On the whole, the distribution areas of the three suspecies are: N-C-S-Europe, W-Siberia, Caucasus, SW-Asia (Adzerbaijan, Afghanistan), for the subsp. eupatoria , S- and SE-Europe, N-Africa, SW-Asia ( Turkey, Iran) for the subsp. major , and SE-Russia, C- and SW-Asia for the subsp. asiatica .
