Ethulia divaricata Linnaeus View in CoL , Systema Naturae, ed. 12, 2: 536; Mantissa Plantarum: 110. 1767.
"Habitat in India." RCN: 6047.
Lectotype (Grierson in Dassanayake & Fosberg, Revised Handb. Fl. Ceylon 1: 236. 1980): Herb. Linn. No. 988.48 ( LINN) .
Current name: Epaltes divaricata (L.) Cass. View in CoL ( Asteraceae ).
Note: Grierson (in Ceylon J. Sci., Biol. Sci. 11: 15. 1974) argued that Linnaeus’ apparent inclusion of Artemisia minima L (1753) in the protologue was a bibliographic confusion resulting from proof copies of Burman’s Fl. Indica. He argued that Linnaeus corrected this later (in Mant. Pl. Alt.: 572. 1771), and that E. divaricata L. is not illegitimate.
