Remarks. This species is very similar to C. abbreviata (Jacobi) , n. comb. externally, but it can be distinguished from the latter by: 1) body larger; 2) anterior margin of crown less sharp ( Figs 3 View FIGURES 1 – 10, 21 , 13 View FIGURES 11 – 20 ); 3) transverse beige patch ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1 – 10, 21 ) on frontoclypeus large and enclosing pair of blackish ochreous browlike spots ( Fig. 14 View FIGURES 11 – 20 ); 4) apophysis of style of uniform width and only near apex abruptly narrowed to slender pointed process ( Fig. 7 View FIGURES 1 – 10, 21 ); 5) style apodeme apex straight in ventral view ( Fig. 7 View FIGURES 1 – 10, 21 ); 6) aedeagal ventral process approximately triangular in lateral view ( Fig. 6 View FIGURES 1 – 10, 21 ).
The specimens examined were previously preserved in alcohol and subsequently point mounted, which may account for some of the differences in coloration noted between this species and C. abbreviata .
Etymology. The specific name refers to the browlike spots of these insects.
