Submentum and laterally mesorostrum with thick and elongate pappolepida. Antennae long and thin (SL: 0.70–0.75 mm, FL: 0.95–1.10 mm, SL/FL: 0.68–0.70). Pronotum slightly elongate (PL: 0.80– 0.80 mm, PW: 0.75– 0.75 mm, PL/PW: 1.07–1.07) with many echinopappolepida at base. Holotype redescription. Male. See Figs 1, 1a, 1b, 1c, 1d, 1e View FIGURE 1 . Elongate body ( TL 3.80 mm, BL 3.10 mm). Black-brownish cuticle.
Rostrum elongate (RL: 0.70 mm, RW: 0.45 mm, RL/RW: 1.55), conical to sides but with pterygium very expanded. Epistome absent. Mesorostrum carinae just divergent to sides. Submentum densely covered by whitishyellowish pappolepida, also partially visible around mesorostrum. Interocular pit visible. FW/MW: 2.40. Vestigial eyes flat and visible.
Antennae thin and elongate (SL: 0.75 mm, FL: 1.10 mm, SL/FL: 0.68); AS ratio: 10.8.5.4.3.4.3.18. Scape clubbed, slightly more robust than funicle, curved at proximal third and progressively thickening towards apex. Funicle very long and thin; all segments with short and thin setae. Club three-segmented, fusiform, in length more than twice the width, densely covered by thin setae.
Pronotum slightly elongate (PL: 0.80 mm, PW: 0.75 mm, PL/PW: 1.07), wider in the middle and with thick echinopappolepida at base. Scutellum visible.
Elytra oblong elongate to sides, dorsally vaulted (EL: 2.30 mm, EW: 1.15 mm, EL/EW: 2.00), wider at middle with flat suture. Humeri obliquely rounded. Striae with 14–15 evident punctures, catenulate, not deep. Interstriae flat with thin setae raised and quite elongate. Elytral declivity> 60 degrees.
Legs slim and elongate with femora clubbed. Protibia with six–seven acute spines on inner edge and an evident mucro on inner apical angle. Protibia sinuous on inner edge and slightly curved in side view. Metatibia and mesotibia straight in side view. All tibia with noticeable apical comb. Tarsal segment 1 short, conical; segment 2 short and transverse; segment 3 very bilobed; all segments with thin golden setae. Onychium curved, robust and short with one short claw.
Male genitalia. See Figs: dorsal shape aedeagus Fig. 47 View FIGURES 47–89 ; apex of penis Fig. 47 View FIGURES 47–89 ’; IX sternite Fig. 90 View FIGURES 90–132 .

Paratypes variability. Paratypes, sexual dimorphism excluded, are similar to the holotype but differ in size.
Distribution. See Figs. 221, 221a. Sicilian endemic. Known only from Madonie around Castelbuono at 400– 1400 meters of elevation.
Ecology and Phenology. Unknown. Our repeated collections at the type locality gave negative results.
Main soil type. Vertic Cambisol ( European Soil Data Centre; Panagos et al. 2012) .
Reproduction. Amphigonic.
Associated species. Unknown.
