Atheta brachati ASSING, 2013: 115 View in CoL f.; nov.syn.
M a t e r i a l e x a m i n e d: Armenia:13, ca. 50 km NW Sisian, Jermuk , 39°50'N, 45°40'E, 2110 m, oak forest, litter and roots sifted, 3.VII.2016, leg. Assing (cAss) GoogleMaps ; 13, same data, but 12.VII.2016 (cAss) GoogleMaps .
C o m m e n t: The original description of A. brachati is based on a male holotype and a male paratype from Bolu Province, Turkey. A revision of the types revealed that they are conspecific with A. hansseni .
Atheta hansseni is closely allied to A. cadaverina , the type species of Dimetrota, whereas it is clearly not closely related to the new species assigned to this subgenus above, which belong to Dimetrota sensu BRUNDIN (1954).
The two males listed above represent the first records from Armenia.
