Polytrichothrips laticeps (Bagnall) View in CoL
Docessissophothrips laticeps Bagnall, 1915: 322–323 View in CoL .
P. laticeps View in CoL was originally described under the genus Docessissophothrips View in CoL based on unique holotype female from Sarawak, Borneo. Subsequently, Priesner (1939) described the synonymous species Polytrichothrips pilosus View in CoL also from Sarawak based on unique holotype female. This species is presumably known only from these holotypes, and we have not studied either of them. According to Mound and Palmer (1983) and the original descriptions, it is distinct among the genus in having elongate postocellar and mid-vertex cephalic setae.
