Bambusaspis miliaris ( Boisduval, 1869)
Bambusaspis miliaris was collected together with B. bambusae ( Boisduval, 1869) , already known from Tenerife ( Soria et al. 1998; Matile-Ferrero and Oromí 2001), on an ornamental Bambusa View in CoL sp. plant at Puerto de la Cruz (Tenerife) on 30.x.2016. Both species are now cosmopolitan and are frequently found in greenhouses ( Ülgentürk et al. 2014). They are mostly associated with bamboo species ( Poaceae View in CoL ), and are rarely recorded on plants from other families. The small, flat B. miliaris females were settled on both surfaces of the leaves, whereas the B. bambusae specimens were found on the green culms.
