PSEUDOCORINNA ORIENTALIS View in CoL SP. NOV.
( FIGS 32A–D View Figure 32 , 39A View Figure 39 , 41 View Figure 41 )
Type material: Holotype: male: DR CONGO: Kivu, Kambaila , vallée de Kiharo, 00°10′N, 29°10′E, vi.1973, Lejeune M. ( MRAC 146068 View Materials ). GoogleMaps
Paratype: DR CONGO: 1 ♀ together with holotype ( MRAC 146068 View Materials ) .
Diagnosis: Males of P. orientalis are recognized by the broad RTA with two prongs, a thin, sharp do one and a truncated, wider ve one, and by the ve prong on the proximal part of the tegulum ending in a widened rounded excrescence. Females are recognized by the epigyne with well-defined lateral lobes, each with a tiny tooth on the posterior margin.
Etymology: The species name is an adjective meaning ‘eastern’, referring to the fact that this is the species with the eastern-most distribution.
Description: Male (holotype, MRAC 146068). Total l 5.85.
Carapace chestnut brown, covered by tiny warts forming a network with polygonal meshes. Carapace l: 3.00; w: 2.50. Fovea deep, clearly delimited. Sternum warted, l: 1.25; w: 1.45. Abdomen greyish brown, with a large, brown dorsal scutum covering 75% of do abdominal surface area.
Legs orange-brown, covered by fine warts.
Leg spination: fe: I pl 0-0-0-1-1 rlv 0-0-0-0-1; IV do 0-0-1; ti: I ve 2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2; II ve 2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2; mt: I ve 2-2-2-2; II ve 2-2-2-2; III ve 0-2-0; IV ve 1-1-1.
Male palp ( Fig. 32A, B View Figure 32 ): RTA broad and short, distally with two prongs: ve one broad, truncate, slightly curved upwards, dorsal one short, straight, sharp. PTA simple, short. Embolus fairly long, gradually tapered from base to blunt tip. MA broad, complex, with small membranous appendage. FC fairly long, broad at base, strongly tapered to elongated tip. Proximal part of tegulum extended forward with widened and rounded frontal appendage; PAPT large, triangular, tooth-shaped, pointing outward; RAPT a short tooth; CAPT membranous with rounded tip.
Female (paratype, MRAC 146068 View Materials ). Total l 5.00 .

Leg spination: fe: I pl 0-0-0-1-1 rlv 0-0-0-0-1; ti: I ve 2-2-2-2-2-2-2; II ve 2-2-2-2-2-2-2; IV pl 0-1-0 rl 0-1-0; mt: I ve 2-2-2-2; II ve 2-2-2-2; III pl 0-1-0 ve 0-2-0; IV pl 1-0-0 rl 1-0-0 ve 1-1-1.
Epigyne ( Figs 32C, D View Figure 32 , 39A View Figure 39 ): central lobe with deep posterior concavity exposing posterior central lip; two lateral lobes, each with tiny tooth just underneath margin of central lobe. Copulatory openings far lateral. Internal structure hidden by large lobate ducts.
Known geographical distribution: DR Congo ( Fig. 41 View Figure 41 ).
