Type material: Holotype: female: DR CONGO: Equateur, Territoire de Bikoro, Mabali , 00°53′S, 18°07′E, x.1959, sols suspendus en forêt inondée, Leleup N. ( MRAC 114572 View Materials ). GoogleMaps

Paratypes: DR CONGO: 2 ♀: same data as holotype, petites éminences en forêt inondée, dans humus, Leleup N. ( MRAC 114460 View Materials ) GoogleMaps .

Diagnosis: Females of P. naufraga are recognized by the epigyne with a broad posterior incision behind the darkened area that is covered with small setae.

Etymology: The species name is a noun in apposition and means ‘shipwreck’, referring to the inundated forest in which this species lives.

Description: Female (holotype, MRAC 114572). Total l 5.00.

Carapace as in male, l: 2.45; w: 1.95. Sternum warted, l: 1.10; w: 1.25. Abdomen greyish brown, without do scutum. Legs orange-brown, covered by fine warts.

Leg spination: fe: I pl 0-0-1-1-1 rlv 0-1-1-1-1; III do 0-0-1; IV do 0-1-1; ti: I ve 2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2; II ve 2-2- 2-2-2-2-2-2; mt: I ve 2-2-2-2; II ve 2-2-2-2; IV ve 1-1-1.

Epigyne ( Figs 28A–C View Figure 28 , 38R View Figure 38 ): a darkened area covered with short setae, posterior margin broadly indented; with rectangular indentation as seen from behind. Copulatory openings near posterior margin centre; copulatory ducts running forward, then backward to poorly delimited but large spermathecae. Without lobate ducts.
