Description. Adult described by Burckhardt and van Harten (2006). Fore wing with fine surface spinulation restricted to several small isolated fields in most cells and a larger field in cell cu 2 ( Fig. 74 View FIGURES 67–76 ). Mesotibia with subapical comb on outer margin consisting of 4–5 stout setae. Metatibia with 7–9 apical spurs and 8–12 similar or slightly more slender spurs laterally; metabasitarsus distinctly longer than broad. Apical dilation of distal segment of aedeagus slightly hooked, apex subacute (Fig. 123). Female proctiger with circumanal pore ring composed of a single row of pores ( Fig. 193 View FIGURES 188–200 ). Female subgenital plate, in ventral view, more or less regularly narrowing to a narrowly truncate apex ( Fig. 194 View FIGURES 188–200 ). Dorsal valvulae lacking distinct lateral teeth, ventral valvula with usually four small lateral teeth ( Fig. 193 View FIGURES 188–200 ). Measurements and ratios in Tabs. 2–4.
Larva unknown.
Host plant. The type series was collected on Commiphora africana (Burseraceae) , the probable host.
Biology. Unknown.
Distribution. Kenya, Yemen.
Material examined. Holotype, ♂, YEMEN: Al Kadan , May 2002, in light-trap ( A. van Harten & T. Abdul-Haq). Dry-mounted [ NHMB] . Paratypes: YEMEN: 2 ♂, 2 ♀, Al Lahima , 1 January–9 April 2001, in Malaise trap ( A. van Harten) ; 1 ♂, 1 ♀, same data but 9 April–5 June 2001 ; 2 ♂, 1 ♀, Al Rujum , 9 April–5 June 2001, in Malaise-trap ( A. van Harten) ; 2 ♀, 12 km NW Mannakhah , 27 March–5 May 2002, Malaise trap ( A. van Harten) ; 1 ♂, Taizz, 26–28 May 1998, in light trap ( A. van Harten & A. Awad) , 1 ♀, Taizz, 20 October 1991 ( A. van Harten) . KENYA: 3 ♂, 11 ♀, Namanga, S slope of Ol Doinya Orok , ca. 5500 ft, 5–6 June 1974, beaten from Commiphora africana (D. Hollis) .
