Report as epibiont on nematodes
This species was recorded as epibiont on the nematode Tricoma sp from Ratnagiriı Maharastra Stateı central west coast of India (Arabian Sea) ( Dovgal et al. 2009a).
Bhattacharjee (2014) reported it on the nematode host Chromaspirina sp from Rushikulya (Odisha State of India)ı north-western Bay of Bengal in the Indian Ocean.
Ansari and Bhadury (2016) reported this species from Sundarbans (Bay of Bengalı Indian Ocean) infesting the nematode species Chromaspirina parapontica Luc and De Coninckı 1959 .
Other hosts
The species was described ( Collin 1909) as epibiont on the abdomen of the interstitial harpacticoid copepod Cletodeslongi caudatus (Boeckı 1872) from Banyuls sur-Mer at Mediterranean coast of France.
Remarks
Thecacineta cothurnioides was also listed from the River Seversky Donets basin in Ukraine ( Dovgal 1988). Howeverı the species is not characteristic for freshwater biotopes and Dovgal et al. (2009a) commented that it was an erroneous identification.
