Genus Acarohelcon van Achterberg et Chen, nov.
( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 )
Type species: Acarohelcon varicolor sp. nov.
Etymology. Gender: masculine.
Diagnosis. Occipital carina distinctly curved above base of mandible, nearly rectangularly angled with hypostomal carina and connected to hypostomal carina distinctly above base of mandible, resulting in a narrow combined non-lamelliform carina ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 F) and not protruding below base of mandible but adpressed to base of mandible; median lamella of frons absent, only with a weakly developed median carina or crest; frontal depression present but shallow posteriorly; propleuron convex and punctate or rugose; mesopleuron in front of prepectal carina oblique, gradually narrowed ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 B); prepectal carina present medio-ventrally; second submarginal cell of fore wing medium-sized ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 A); vein a of fore wing only pigmented; marginal cell of hind wing distinctly widened apically ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 A); hind coxa with baso-ventral tubercle; hind femur simple, wavy rugose ventrally, rather slender and hardly or not serrate in lateral view ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 D); basal part of first metasomal sternite longer than wide and basally smooth, separated from tergite; second metasomal suture between first and second tergites narrow and shallow; second tergite coarsely sculptured and third tergite smooth; fourth-sixth metasomal tergites of ♀ well exposed behind third tergite; apex of ovipositor sheath with short erect setae but remainder normally obliquely setose.
Notes. Only the type species known from Oriental China (Guangxi). The new genus is similar to the Australian genus Parahelcon Kokujev, 1901 , if the character of the ventrally sculptured hind femur is ignored. It differs from Parahelcon by the widened marginal cell of the hind wing (distinctly narrowed in Parahelcon ), vein a of fore wing only pigmented (sclerotized basally) and the occipital flange narrow and adpressed to the base of the mandible (larger and protruding below base of the mandible).
