Type species: Joruma pisca McAtee, 1924
Joruma can be easily distinguished from other genera of subfamily Typhlocybinae mainly by the following combination of characteristics: eyes large; ocelli present and conspicuous; forewings without appendix, r-m inconspicuous; hind wings with anal margin serrated, submarginal vein not extending beyond MP, vein R reduced; male anal hooks present.
