Verhoeff 1941: 68, figs 91–96 (as A. striatus n. sp.)

Type locality and specimens. 19.5. 1936 in Südperu bei Sivia [Southern Peru, near Sivia] .

Dimensions. ♀ von 50 mm Länge.

Type material. Holotype ♀. PERU: Ayacucho Region, Sivia [ca. 12°30’S, 73°51’W]. GoogleMaps

Old type catalogue. Weidner (1960), p. 61, No. 1, Holotype ♀.

Collection remarks. The specimen was collected during the Hamburger Südperu-Expedition in 1936. It was collected by light trapping.

Additional remarks. The specimen was destroyed by fire in World War II ( Weidner 1960).

Current systematic position. Junior synonym of Orphnaeus brasilianus (Humbert & Saussure, 1870) according to Kraus (1957: 368).
