Type locality and specimens. Ein altes Exemplar (Typus) aus Mexico ( Monterey ) , sowie ein junges Individuum aus Columbien [One old specimen (Typus) from Mexico ( Monterey ) and a young specimen from Colombia] .

Preservation. 1 jar: Label 1. Scolop. robusta Krpl. Co-Typus. Mus. Strassburg. Columbien 5. V.03 (Kraepelin handwriting). Label 2. Scolopendra robusta Kraepelin 1ex. Paratypus (label with the imprint: Zoologisches Museum Hamburg) .

Old type catalogue. Weidner (1960), p. 71, No. 85. Paratype.

Remarks. The juvenile specimen at ZMH comes from the Museum Strasbourg. The large specimen is given by Kraepelin as “Typus” but in the description both specimens are used (e.g. colour of the adult versus the juvenile). The ZMH specimen is a syntype and the second (adult) syntype is likely present at the Musée zoologique de la ville de Strasbourg.
