Kraepelin 1908: 126 (as Sc. laeta var. viridis n. v.)

Type locality and specimens. Diese Varietät ist namentlich im Süden an der Koombana Bay (Stat. 146, Boyanup; Stat. 144, Bridgetown; Stat. 142, Bunbury; Stat. 139, Brunswick; Stat 137, Collie; Stat. 136, Harvey; Stat. 135, Yarloop) verbreitet, geht aber bis in die Gegend von Perth (Stat. 127, Mundijong; Stat. 101, Mudaring Weir) wo daneben dann aber auch Exemplare auftreten, bei denen namentlich die Rückenplatten der hinteren Segmente an den Seitenrändern weisslich erscheinen und so den Uebergang zur folgenden Varietät darstellen (Stat. 98, Wooroloo; Stat. 123, Cannington; Stat. 152, Gooseberry Hill; Stat. 155 York). [This variation is found in the south at the Koombana Bay (station 146, Boyanup …) but goes up to the Perth region (station 127, Mundijong…) where specimens occur with white margins of the posterior tergites…].

Old type catalogue. Weidner (1960), p. 71, No. 81. Syntypes 10 and paratypes (number not specified).

Taxonomic remarks. Kraepelin (1908) did not specifiy the number of specimens in his description and Weidner (1960: 71) listed 10 syntypes from Boyanup and ‘paratypes’ (on file card 9 paratypes are documented) from Harvey, Mundijong and Wooroloo. Koch (1982) lists this taxon as a colour morph of S. laeta .

Additional material. There is a syntype from Collie at the ZMB (no. 4656) .

Collection remarks. The specimens were collected by Wilhelm Michaelsen during his expedition to Western Australia 1905.

Current systematic position. Junior synonym of Scolopendra laeta ( Haase, 1887) according to Koch (1982: 127).
