Type locality and specimens. Fundort [locality]: Madder Thorrey, W[estern] base of W[estern] Ghates, Kalkutta [Calcutta, today Kolkata]. (1 Exemplar. Hamburger Museum.).

Dimensions. No data available.

Type material. Holotype ( ZMH-A0000604 ). INDIA: Western Ghats (west base), “ Madda Thorrey ” [ca. 10°10’N, 77°04’E].

Collection remarks. Bonato et al. (2016) mention that “two localities have been cited, but there is only a single type specimen in the Hamburg Museum”. The exact type locality is Madder Thorrey and Calcutta refers to the Museum Calcutta (today Indian Museum, Kolkata). We were unable to trace the type locality and the given coordinates refer to the Western Ghats in India .

Current systematic position. Cormocephalus macrosestrus ( Attems, 1928) ; transferred by Attems (1930: 108, as Cormocephalus (Colobopleurus) macrosestrus ).
