Type locality and specimens. Patria [Homeland]: Tenerifa insula [Tenerife], prope oppidum Orotavam [near the town of Orotava].

Dimensions. Longit. corp. [body length] 33 mm, lat. [width] 2 mm.

Type status. Weidner (1960: 67) listed 2 syntypes. The lectotype and paralectotypes were designated by Zapparoli (1989: 217).

Collection remarks. The specimens were collected by Karl Kraepelin during one of his travels.
