Holoaerenica caula Martins, 1984: 313 View in CoL .

Remarks. Aerenica obtusipennis was described based on two males from Argentina (Tucumán) and one female from Paraguay (Alto Paraná). Later, Martins (1984) described Holoaerenica caula based on males and females from Brazil (São Paulo and Paraná), Paraguay (Central, Boquerón, Conception, San Pedro, Cordillera, Guaira, Itapuá, and Paraguari), and Argentina (Misiones). Martins & Galileo (1998) synonymized H. caula with H. obtusipennis . Currently, it is known from Brazil (São Paulo and Paraná), Paraguay, and Argentina (Tucumán, Misiones) (Monné 2924b; Tavakilian & Chevillotte 2023).
