Diagnosis. The male genitalia of this species are similar to those of Cheumatopsyche charites Malicky & Chantaramongkol, 1997 , but can be distinguished by the anterolateral margins of segment IX being more nearly straight (convex in C. charites ). The tergum X posterior margin has two apicolateral lobes that are each relatively broader than in C. charites in dorsal view and separated from the middorsal hump by a longer cavity in lateral view. The inferior appendages each have the apical segment more curved in caudoventral view. The phallus also differs in lacking a constriction at mid-length (constricted in C. charites ).

Description. (In alcohol) Head and thorax brown. Abdominal segments pale cream, legs light brown. Forewings brown and hind wings light brown.

Wings: Shape and venation characteristic of genus. Male forewing length 5.0– 5.2 mm (n=2).

Male genitalia: Segment IX in lateral view with anterolateral margins nearly straight in dorsal 3/4ths, posterior margin convex especially at 1/3rd height ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 c); anterodorsal margin raised and forming transverse bridge with setose lobes contiguous ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 b). Tergum X in lateral view with mid-dorsal hump near middle of segment and setose lobes apically ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 c); in dorsal view with two broad apicolateral lobes separated by wide cleft ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 b). Inferior appendages in caudoventral view each with apical segment sinuous ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 a). Phallus with dorsal and ventral margins nearly parallel in lateral view ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 e).

Etymology. Latin “rectus (-a –um),” an adjective meaning “straight,” referring to the nearly straight anterolateral margins of segment IX.
