Material examined: BRAZIL: Bahia State, Estação Ecológica Pau Brazil, Porto Seguro , 16º23'17.6''S 39º10'55.6''W, 107m a.s.l., Malaise (Trilha 1), holotype male, 17.v.2002, C.O. Azevedo & eq. (BRPS09: BIOTA-FAPESP) ( MZUSP) .

Diagnostic characters: The species differs from other members of the genus except P. amorimi sp. n. by having reduced palpomeres and unsclerotized transverse sternapodeme. It can be separated from P. amorimi sp. n. by having costal not extended and R 4+5 ending proximal to apex of Cu 1. It differs from other members of the group by having a broadly triangular anal point with straight sides and sharply pointed apex and indication of a bulge-like superior volsella.

The species known only from the Bahia State, Brazil, is described in detail by Andersen et al. (2010: 57).
