Xingbaoia Rentz, 2001: 268 View in CoL . Type species: Xingbaoia karakara Rentz View in CoL , by monotypy. (Type locality: Lake Barrine, Atherton Tableland, Queensland.)
This genus was described to accommodate a single species from Australian tropical rainforests from Innisfail to Cape Tribulation, Queensland with populations in several disjunct rainforests on the Atherton Tableland, Qld.
Here we describe an additional species, from transitional areas bordering rainforests. It is smaller and more elongate than X. karakara View in CoL and has different genitalia.
‘This species is readily placed in Xingbaoia View in CoL based on its elongate, slender appearance and long legs and the micropterous condition of both sexes with the male tegmina almost wholly concealed by the pronotum. The colour of this species is brown with the dorsal surface of the abdomen of both sexes bearing a pair of parallel stripes laterally. The male cercus is characterised by having an internal crest ( Fig. 23 View FIGURE 23 A, C).
