Halobiont species, widely distributed along Atlantic coasts of Europe and N-Africa, reaching C-Europe, and Mediterranean coastal regions, eastwards to Turkey and Israel (CATPAL 1: JAEGER & KATAEV 2003: 402), in addition recorded from Malta (MAGRINI & SCHEMBRI 1997: 226; VIGNA TAGLIANTI 2004).
