This species is recorded in the literature from Florida, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina , and Texas, as well as Mexico (Chiapas, Hidalgo,

México, Morelos, Nuevo León, Oaxaca, Puebla, Querétaro, San Luis Potos´ı, Tamaulipas, Veracruz) and Panama ( Triplehorn and Wheeler 1979; Merkl 1988; Young 2002; Ciegler 2014). We here report this species from OKLAHOMA [new state record]: Payne Co.: Stillwater, 36°07.03´N 97°04.15´W, at light, 30 June 2005, leg. M. Gimmel (2, MLGC); same data except 20 February 2005 (1, MLGC). Additional records for the species, not examined by us, are available for Oklahoma in Comanche (CSUC) and Latimer (TAMU) Counties on SCAN (<symbiota4.acis.ufl.edu/scan/portal>). A total of 39 specimen records from KANSAS [new state record] are deposited in SEMC and determined by Z. Falin: Barber Co.: Lasswell Rd, 0.35 mi. Swearingen (8); 15 July 1995 (3); 21 Sep. 1995 (6). “Moldy thatch” on labels refers to mowed lawn grass clippings that were piled at the base of trees or partly shaded sites and examined for beetles after 1–3 weeks. Larval and adult E. caseyi were kept in small plastic containers with moldy grass for rearing (W. E. Steiner, personal communication). These specimens represent the northeasternmost records of the species thus far.
