Anastatus (Anastatus) tenuipes Bolívar y Pieltain, 1925 View in CoL
Anastatus tenuipes Bolívar y Pieltain, 1925: 43–45 View in CoL , fig. 1. Described: female.
Anastatus tenuipes View in CoL ; Hu et al., 2011: 483–484. Misidentification of A. japonicus View in CoL .
Species concept. Our concept of A. tenuipes View in CoL is based on the original description and examination of a single female syntype (USNM) labelled “Caire | août 1909 / Coll. Alfieri | Egypte / Anastase Alfieri | Collection | 1965 / Anastatus View in CoL | tenuipes View in CoL ♀ | TYPE C. Bol. | C. BOLIVAR det. / Type No | 69016 | USNM”.
Regional material examined. None.
Distribution. AFROTROPICAL: Senegal, Sudan. NEARCTIC: Mexico, United States of America. NEO- TROPICAL: Guatemala. ORIENTAL: India. PALAEARCTIC: Egypt, Italy ( Noyes 2019).
Remarks. Hu et al. (2011) identified A. tenuipes from Hainan Province, but a voucher female in IZCAS examined by L. Peng proved to be A. japonicus . We therefore exclude A. tenuipes from the fauna of China.
