Troglocollops (Troglocollops) Wittmer, 1965: 143 . Type species: Collops obscuricornis Motschulsky, 1860 , by original designation.

Troglocollops (Troglocollopsoides) Wittmer, 1979: 151 , Type species: Troglocollops (Troglocollopsoides) medvedevi Wittmer, 1979 , fixed by original designation and monotypy.

Troglocollops (Alexeus) Tshernyshev, 1995: 71 , Type species: Troglocollops alexeus Tshernyshev, 1995 , by original designation.

Diagnosis. Medium-sized beetles, ranging from 3 to 5 mm in length. Tarsomere 2 of the anterior tarsi bearing a special comb in male ( Fig. 1a View FIGURE 1 ). Antennae with 11 antennomeres: antennomeres 1 and 3 in male enlarged, but lacking special structures such as tufts of hairs, bristles, or excitators; antennomere 2 very small and not conspicuous, hidden by 1; antennomeres 4–10 transversal and slightly saw-toothed ( Fig. 1b View FIGURE 1 ). Head sculptured in male ( Fig. 1c View FIGURE 1 ), usually by a deep hollow or a protuberance bearing a tuft of spines. Females usually with entirely black interocular area of head. The apical parts of male elytra simple, lacking special structures or contrasting spots. Pronotum simple, lacking grooves. Dorsal colouration varies from entirely dark to dark with yellow edges.

Distribution. China (Xinjiang), Kazakhstan, Russia (from South Siberia: Altai Mountains, to the East: Tuva, Transbaikalia, Yakutia, Chukotka Peninsula, Magadanskaya Oblast and South Primorie), and Mongolia.
