Generic diagnosis. Body medium to large. Frontal rostrum slightly or distinctly wider than scapus. Pronotum rather short, anterior margin distinctly narrower than posterior margin. Tegmina rather long, over apex of abdomen; hind wings distinctly longer than tegmina. Male tegmina with long transverse stridulatory vein and long apical area; mirror almost as long as wide, with 1 dividing vein. Metanotal gland well-developed, almost square large concavity. Fore tibia strongly swollen at tympana; external tympanum ovoid; internal tympanum with a slit-like opening on posterior side. Male supra anal plate with sclerotized lateral part and short setae area; subgenital plate rather short, with posterior margin more or less widely rounded. Genitalia well-developed, epiphallus distinctly transverse, with V- or U-shaped posterior margin; lateral lobes of epiphallus distinctly longer than length of medial lobes; epiphallus parameres sclerotized and various; rami rather long and wide.
