Material examined. Petro-UFS—2 M; size range: 12.50 ≤ CW ≤ 28.43 mm; average: CW = 20.47 ± 11.26 mm;

CZUFS CRU- 00024. Station. Petro-UFS—5 and 17. Distribution. Western Atlantic—North Carolina, Bermuda, Florida, Gulf of Mexico, Antilles, and Brazil (from Amapá to São Paulo) ( Melo 1996; Bertini et al. 2004). Ecological notes. Lives on sand, mud, hard bottoms, and on shells, also found on algae bottoms ( Melo 1996). Remarks. Previously recorded as Portunus (Portunus) anceps ( Melo 1996; Bertini et al. 2004; Coelho et al.

2008). Previous records in Sergipe. Coelho et al. (2004, 2008).
