Material examined. Petro-UFS—1 M; CW = 9.48; CZUFS CRU- 00111. Penaeid—6 (3 M, 2 F, 1 OF); size range: 2.6 ≤ CW ≤ 10.34 mm; average: CW = 6.97 ± 2.61 mm; CZUFS CRU- 00236.

Stations. Petro-UFS—5; Penaeid—3 and 9.

Distribution. Western Atlantic—USA (North Carolina, Florida and Gulf of Mexico) and Brazil (from Rio Grande do Norte to Rio de Janeiro) ( Melo 1996; Ferreira & Sankarankutty 2002; Almeida et al. 2007 a).

Ecological notes. From shallow waters to 90 m. On coral, rocks, hydroids, and oysters ( Melo 1996).

Remarks. In the present study, M. calcarata was in association with the Bryozoa Reteporella sp. (family Phidolopodidae).
