Material examined. Petro-UFS—1 F; CW = 12.67 mm; CZUFS CRU- 00114.

Station. Petro-UFS—5.

Distribution. Western Atlantic—North Carolina to Florida, Gulf of Mexico, West Indies, Colombia, Trinidad, Suriname, French Guiana to Brazil (Paraíba, Pernambuco, and Rio de Janeiro) ( Melo 1998; Melo & Veloso 2005; Coelho 2006; Serejo et al. 2006; Coelho et al. 2008).

Ecological notes. From shallow waters to 140 m. Found on sand and hard bottoms and on calcareous algae ( Melo 1996).

Remarks. The species was first described as Podochela riisei by Stimpson in 1860 and transferred to the genus Coryrhynchus by Coelho (2006), in a revision of the genus Podochela .
