Range:— Antilles; southern Mexico to Bolivia (CO, LP, SC) and Brazil.

Ecology:— Terrestrial and epiphytic in semideciduous to humid forests; 300–3000 m.

Notes:— Closely related to A. auriculatum , but with larger leaves with more remote and larger pinnae, usually 2-forked veins, and more pairs of sori per pinna (7–15 vs. 4–6).
